Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James, alias Baba Ijesha has been awarded 16 years in prison by an Ikeja Special Offences Court for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old minor.
While delivering the judgement, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, on Thursday, convicted Baba Ijesha of indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault and attempted sexual assault.
The charges against the actor, is argued to have contravened Section 135, 137, 261, 202, 262 and 263 of the Lagos State Criminal Law 2015, which stipulates life imprisonment for offenders.
However, Baba Ijesha pleaded not guilty to all the counts. However, a Closed-Circuit Television video recording detailing his relationship with the victim said to be a minor was played in court.
