Mr. Ruto spoke in response to a ruling by the Supreme Court allowing LGBTQ freedom of association, in March 2, 2023 in Nairobi.

It was gathered by Nairobi News that the President also called out institutions that have been teaching students about Lesbian, Gay Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer (LGBTQ).

“Even if we are respecting the court, our culture, our traditions, our Christianity, our Islamic will not allow a woman to marry her fellow woman or a man to marry a man,” the President explained.

“Do not worry, it will happen anywhere else but it will not take place in Kenya.”

The President also asked the religious leaders in the country to stand firm against the vice that he said will erode the African culture.

President Ruto also challenged religious leaders to step up and teach Kenyan children about the right way of doing things to stop such cases from popping up.

At the same time, the President said that he will not allow women to compete with men who are preying on their husbands.
