NIPR Congratulates Sogunle On His Appointment As Lagos State Permanent Secretary, Information

Lagos, Nigeria – The Lagos Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has congratulated as well as applauded the appointment of Mr. Olumide Sogunle as the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Lagos State.

Mr. Sogunle, a member of the Lagos Chapter of NIPR, was sworn in, on Friday 9 September, 2022 by Governor Babajide Sanwoolu in Alausa.

In her congratulatory message at the reception in honour of the new Permanent Secretary, the Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of NIPR, Mrs. Comfort Obot Nwankwo, expressed her delight with the appointment of Mr. Sogunle.

She said: “I congratulate you on your promotion and appointment as the Permanent Secretary in the State Of Excellence.”

“We are pleased to identify with your progress as a member of the Lagos State Chapter of NIPR. We look forward to your continuous contributions and participation in the activities of the institute. Again I say congratulation sir! May your path be smooth.”

Sogunle took the barton from another member of the chapter, Mr Olusina Thorpe, a Fellow and Council member of the Institute, who retired last July.

Until his appointment as pioneer Deputy Managing Director of Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency, he served the agency in various capacities, including Head of Monitoring and Compliance; Enforcement; and Registry.

Sogunle, prior to joining LASAA, garnered experience in various Nigerian banks and organisations.

He was Business Development Manager, Dopemu, Lagos branch of Skye Bank Plc from January 2006 to August 2008 and Manager, Institutional Banking Division of EIB International Bank Plc from November 2002 to January 2006.

He was also Deputy Manager, Customer Relations/Business Development and Marketing unit of the Ikoyi, Lagos branch of Eko International Bank; and Head of Unit, Accounts and Reconciliation Department at the same bank from August 1998 to August 1999.

Briefly, Sogunle was at Radio Lagos where he was a presenter, reporter and sub-editor.

Academically, he is an alumus of Lagos State University, holding a degree in English Language and Literature/Letters. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration with specialty in Marketing from the Delta State University, Abraka.
