Ede, Nigeria– A 28-year-old herbalist, Ismail Adewuyi has been arrested by the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service in Ede for stealing a female corpse’ head and intestine at the Muslim Cemetery, Oke Yidi in Ede, Osun State.

According to Punch’s report, Adewuyi was arrested on Saturday armed with various charms in the cemetery early hours of Saturday, exhuming the corpse, cutting the head and the intestine.

Adewuyi was caught going out of the cemetery by a member of hunters service, who laid an ambush after suspecting the culprit and arrested him.

According to a source who spoke with Punch correspondent in Oke Yidi, ede on Sunday explained that the suspect is an herbalist.

His words “We heard the noise and few people that could go out saw hunters interrogating a suspect carrying head of a corpse and intestines that he exhumed at the Muslim Cemetery, Oke Yidi, Ede.

However, The suspect was handed to the police and he’s still in their custody.

While contacting the state Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the arrest of the suspect, explaining that investigation is going on.

Opalola said, “On Saturday, around 1.25am, a member of Nigeria Hunter in Ede, arrested one Adewuyi Ismail, 28, of Oke-Ola, Agbagudu, Ede, and brought him to the station with an unknown fresh female head and intestines.

“The suspect was arrested around 1am at the Muslim Cemetery, Oke Yidi, Abere Road, Ede. The investigation is in progress.”
