Starting today, Google is opening up access to Bard, its new AI chatbot tool that directly competes with ChatGPT.
Google said the AI chatbot will only be available to certain users and they will have to be over the age of eighteen (18) to quality for the usage.
Users can join a waitlist to gain access to Bard, which promises to help users outline and write essay drafts, plan contents and get lunch ideas based on what’s in the fridge.
Unlike its rival ChatGPT, Bard can access up-to-date information from the internet and has a “Google it” button which accesses search.
Google said it will start rolling out the tool in the United States and United Kingdom, and plans to expand it to more countries and languages in the future.
However, Google warned Bard could have limitations and said it might share misinformation and display bias. This is because it learns from real-world information, in which those biases currently exist – meaning it is possible for stereotypes and false information to show up in its attempt to answer a query.

Google unveiled Bard last month in a demo and said it is built on a large language model. These models are trained on vast troves of data online in order to generate compelling responses to user prompts.
Generally, AI chatbots are programmed to answer questions online using natural, human-like language. They can write anything from speeches and marketing copy to computer code and student essays.
