KANO, NIGERIA – Twenty persons were injured and several shops razed down by fire as a fresh gas explosion rocked Sheka quarters in Kano State.
Newswebbs from accurate accounts, gathered that the gas explosion went off around 8pm at a gas cylinder refilling shop on Thursday night.
Saminu Yusif, the spokesperson of the Kano State Fire Service, confirmed that 20 persons were affected in the incident.

He also confirmed that the affected victims have been evacuated to the hospital by the firemen deployed to the scene by the Service.
According to him, the incident was caused by a man frying and selling fish near the gas shop.
He said, “We received an emergency call at about 7:04p.m., from Adamu Muhd who reported an outbreak of fire at Sheka Karshen Kwalta, Kumbotso Local Government Area.”
