Abeokuta, Ogun – No fewer than four (4) people have been reportedly dead after a yet-to-be-identified cultists invaded the Ijagba Sagamu area of Ogun State on Sunday 17 September 2023.
As per The Punch reports, multiple accounts from eyewitnesses had it that the group shot two people when they invaded Ijagba Street beside a mosque of the community on Sunday.
The two people killed were later identified by the state police as Olasunkanmi Ajayi and a yet-to-be-identified woman, both of whom were said to have been shot in the head.
An eyewitness who spoke with PUNCH Metro on condition of anonymity claimed the son of the deceased woman who was shot in the head prevented the police from removing the body of the deceased victim to the hospital.
A source in the state police command told our correspondent that empty cartridges were recovered from the crime scene.

Meanwhile, as the police team led by the Area Commander of Sagamu, Shehu Alao, was restoring peace in the area, another clash ensued as two alleged Aiye confraternity members shot two persons dead.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident on Monday, said at least two arrests had been made and that the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, was on the ground to assess the situation.
