According to a statement issued by the Executive Director of the union, Mr. Igweshi Augustine, “this change of name is consequent upon consultation and feedback from CEPASD’s partners, sponsors and delegates.  It is also to reflect the Pan African reach of the Model African Union which has evolved beyond being hosted in Abuja Nigeria to being poised to be hosted in different African countries annually.

The Youth Model African Union is the simulation of the proceedings, plenaries, extraordinary sessions and committee meetings of the Assembly of African Union.

The model African Union also aims to expose participants to the system and workings of the African Union as well as enable them gain diplomatic, leadership, lobbying and international relations experience to position themselves on a career as diplomats and transformational leaders for the African We Want.

To achieve the above, the Center for Peace Advocacy and Sustainable Development has executed strategic partnerships to heighten the impact and participant experience of this year’s Model African Union. We therefore wish to announce our partnership with the Pan African Young Diplomats Forum for the convening of this year’s Model African Union.
