Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria – The chairman of the Ajoni local council development area in Ekiti, Micheal Ogungbemi, says four people suspected of killing an NSCDC operative, Segun Ayebulu, and abducting his relatives have been arrested.
On Tuesday, Mr Ogungbemi disclosed this information in Ado-Ekiti that the suspects were arrested by the Ajoni community vigilante group, code-named ‘Operation Eradicate Bandits’.
The chairman said the vigilantes arrested the suspects while on patrol along the border between Ekiti and Kwara.
According to him, the suspects allegedly confessed to killing the NSCDC officer and kidnapping his family members.
Mr Ogungbemi said two AK-47 rifles were seized from the suspects, now detained at Ikole Ekiti police station.

Mr Ayebulu was shot dead by gunmen on September 3, along Oke-Ako-Irele-Ekiti road while driving home to Kogi together with members of his family. (NAN)
