Ogun, Nigeria – Covenant University at its ongoing 18th Convocation tagged – Release of Eagles 2023, has announced 283 graduates in the First Class grade.
According to the data released by the institution, Elijah Ifechukwu Nelson, a graduate of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the College of Engineering, emerged as the overall best student with a 4.98 CGPA.
At the ceremony presided over by the Chancellor, Bishop David Oyedepo, the Vice Chancellor announced that the 283 excellent graduates in the First Class grade represented 24.9 per cent of the 1,175 produced by the institution for the 2022/2023 academic session.
The breakdown of other classifications of graduates is 656 in the Second Class Upper (55.83%), 214 Second Class Lower (18.21 %) and 22 in the Third Class grade representing 1.87 percent of the total number of graduates for the session.

At the postgraduate levels, 207 were awarded higher degrees.
The classifications are 57 Ph.D., 11 MBA, 107 M.Sc, 27 M.Eng and two M.A.
Earlier during the hooding on Thursday, the Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Akan Williams disclosed that following Management’s approval of the School’s request for the postgraduate students’ certificates will be issued from Tuesday, October 3, 2023.”
